In the domestic molding rotary tiller equipment products, with horizontal rotary tiller as the mainstream, this kind of rotary tiller to the soil adaptability, soil mixing effect is good, one-time operation can reach the requirements of turning the soil, soil crushing and leveling the surface. However, the general depth of the tillage is shallow, the serious leakage of tillage, the working parts are easy to wind up the grass and mud, and the power consumption during the operation is large. To this end, the vertical and oblique rotary cultivators were introduced. Vertical rotary tiller is mainly suitable for stubble removal. Inclining rotary tiller is a new type of tiller which combines the characteristics of plow and rotary tillage, with low power consumption and good tillage quality.

In the horizontal rotary tiller, according to the rotation of the rotary tiller cutter shaft and the tractor wheel, it can be divided into two kinds: forward rotation and reverse rotation. If the cutting shaft of the rotary tiller is in line with the steering of the tractor wheel, it is a positive rotary tiller; otherwise it is a reverse rotary tiller. Reverse rotary tiller was put forward on the basis of positive rotary tiller, and then the submerged soil reverse rotary tiller and positive and negative rotary tiller were introduced. Reverse rotary tiller can be used as the main supporting tool of large and medium-sized combine harvester, and can form soil burying stubble, which is beneficial to straw returning to field and realize the purpose of increasing soil organic matter. Reverse submersible rotary tiller can increase deep ploughing and effectively solve the backfill problem in front of cutter shaft. Through the combination of transmission mechanism and working parts, the rotary tiller can make the cutter shaft rotate positively and negatively, complete stubble removal and rotary tillage at the same time, and realize one machine multi-purpose.
